My First Pap Test

The first question is - Would it hurt? and if it would hurt, how painful would it be?

While waiting for my turn, I ask some of my seatmates if they have already experienced having a pap smear.. A lady, 4 months pregnant for her third baby answered, she's afraid to try it and have no plans on doing so.. I even asked my mom before if she too had gone through with it, same answer - NOT & AFRAID! So i thought, this thing must be very painful! Ouch!

Married for 6 years already, but yesterday was just my first pap smear.. Yeah, right.. I too was very coward.. My should-be first pap test was 5 years ago, but i did not show up! Hahaha!

Felt very anxious, waiting for my turn.. Took me about more than 2 hours of waiting..

But, i am brave this time.. Thinking if i had successfully gave birth - the one i considered my most painful experience.. Why the hell, can't i do this thing?

And know what? Unlike my expectations - IT DOES NOT HURT! You'll only feel mild discomfort. But the more relaxed you are, the less discomfort you will feel. And it only takes some minutes to perform..
What is a Pap Smear?
A Pap smear is simple test that screens for cervical cancer. The test
involves the collection of cells from the cervix to be examined under a
microscope. It is not a diagnostic test, however, and if any abnormalities are
discovered, more testing may be needed.

Why Do I need a Pap Smear?
A Pap smear can detect abnormal cervical changes before they can become
cancerous. It is a highly effective tool for cervical cancer screening and
prevention.

This could have saved my grandma's life, but she was too afraid to try it.. This could save my life or your life..
